VARIETIES:-

I KEEP NUMEROUS VARIETIES THE MOST IMPORTANT IS STRONG NORMALS AS THIS IS THE MAIN VARIETY THAT YOU WILL NEED TO KEEP STRONG YOUR OTHER VARIETIES.

THE NORMALS I KEEP ARE:-

SKY BLUES, GREY GREEN, COBOLT, DARK GREEN, GREY, VIOLET

OPALINES & CINNAMONS ARE ALSO NEEDED FOR BREEDING.

OPALINES FOR SPOTS & SIZE.

CINNAMONS FOR THEIR SILKY FEATHER TEXTURE.

MY OTHER VARIETIES ARE:- YELLOW FACE; SPANGLES NORMALS & DOUBLE FACTORS; RECESSIVE PIEDS; DOMINANT PIEDS; LACEWING; DARK EYE CLEAR; BLACK EYE SELF; ALBINO; LUTINO.

I HAVE'NT GOT TO WHERE I AM AT IF I NEVER ASK QUESTIONS, READ BOOKS, SEEN OTHER PEOPLE BIRDS, STEWARD AT SHOWS WHICH IS A GREAT EXPERIENCE, GOING TO CLUB MEETINGS WHERE THEY GIVE LECTURES & DOMO'S ON PRPARING BIRDS.

  I would suggest you get a few years experience with normals, opalines, cinnamons or spangles etc., before trying any of the rarer varieties, then go for the varieties that you like..
